Sort of healthy biscuits – fruity, oaty, sugar and fat free

Busy day – blogging, hairdressers, local election voting, afternoon nap, 45 minute walk, cooking dinner. And then the baking gods summoned me. I found a recipe that claims to result in yummy biscuits that are also healthy.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
2 ripe bananas, mashed until creamy
1 cup apple sauce
1/3 cup chopped prunes
1/4 cup chopped almonds
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

    1. Mix cinnamon and vanilla into apple sauce.
    2. Mix apple sauce mixture with all other ingredients.
    3. Let sit for 10 minutes. And preheat oven to 170 degrees Celcius.
    4. Drop spoonfuls onto baking tray lined with baking paper.
    5. Bake 30 minutes.

Evaluation
Well… My mother said if you can’t say anything nice, don’t … You know the rest. Definitely very fruity and filling. They don’t satisfy my sweet tooth and are not really a biscuit nor a cake. More a moist biscuity muesli barish type of thing. Mr LS will enjoy these tomorrow.

This recipe won’t be one I keep. I have another one I want to try. Next week maybe or whenever the baking gods call me.
