I’m not going to lie to you, dear readers, and say I have nothing to wear.
You know that the truth is otherwise.
So why the dilemma?
Well, it is the last week of autumn, I have mentally packed away my summer clothes and last night decided on the dress I would wear to work today.
I don’t actually pack away my clothes at the change of season as my clothes can be inter-seasonal; wearing a more lightweight dress with a jacket and stockings extends the seasons can be worn.
I don’t have hard and fast rules of what colours and fabric can be worn in different seasons, but it does look silly to wear white and bright colours in the middle of winter, just as it strikes me as old to wear black in an Australian summer. I don’t even know when Labor Day is in the US but I do know the saying “Don’t wear white after Labor Day” which is sort of like my preferences.
And I don’t lay out my clothes the night before, but I do have a rough idea of what I will be wearing, depending on the weather and what I might have going on at work (power dressing to show my authority, something bright for a public event, more casual for sport etc).
So last night I thought I would wear a blue fake wrap dress that I showed you here.
But today is going to be 28°C. Sorry for those who don’t like exclamation marks and definitely don’t subscribe to multiple ones but this definitely deserves it. 28°!!! In the last week of autumn.
The conversations in Sydney are all about the weather. This is madness. No rain for weeks. The warmest May on record. Records being broken. Look here.
So back to me, what do I wear?
